THE STORY BEHIND OLE LAPP

About Ole Lapp

Ole Lapp, born Larry Williams, is a Southern independent artist previously known as M5K.

The name changed. The man behind the music didn’t.

From M5K to Ole Lapp

Before Ole Lapp, there was M5K — a name that originally meant “My Five Kids.” It was personal before it was ever musical, and it became the name attached to the records as the catalog began finding an audience.

Then the music started moving fast. Multiple records reached seven-figure play counts, including “Snakes Don’t Hiss No Mo,” “A Hit Dog Gon’ Holla,” “My Peace Got A Price,” “If I Said It I Meant It,” and “I Stopped Arguing With Stupid.”

But as the audience grew, so did the confusion. Similar artist names and mismatched pages across digital platforms made it harder for listeners to know exactly where the music belonged.

That is where Ole Lapp became the next chapter.

Why Ole Lapp?

Because the name is personal.

“Lapp” comes from a longtime nickname. It was not invented for a rollout, a campaign, or a rebrand. It was already part of the man behind the records.

M5K carried the music into the room. Ole Lapp puts the person behind the music front and center.

M5K introduced the sound. Ole Lapp is building the legacy.

Where the Game Met the Music

Ole Lapp’s music lives where real-life experience meets Southern conversation.

The records pull from Southern soul, blues, R&B, and trap-influenced production, but the center of the music is the message: loyalty, people, money, family, relationships, getting older, standing on what you say, and learning when life has already given you the answer.

The language comes from the kind of sayings people grow up hearing from somebody who has already lived enough life to know what they are talking about. Ole Lapp takes that game and puts it into records people can feel.

The music may be modern. The game behind it comes from somewhere older.
