Where the Game Met the Music

OLE LAPP

Southern soul. Real-life lessons. A voice built from experience.

Formerly known as M5K. Same voice. Same catalog. A new chapter built under the name Ole Lapp.

From M5K to Ole Lapp

Before listeners knew the name Ole Lapp, they knew the music under M5K. The name changed, but the voice, the catalog, and the story did not. Ole Lapp is the next chapter of the same independent artist who built momentum by turning Southern sayings, hard-earned lessons, and everyday life into records people could feel.

M5K originally stood for “My Five Kids.” As the music grew and similar artist names began creating confusion across digital platforms, the decision was made to move forward under a name tied more directly to the man behind the music: Ole Lapp.

Millions of Plays. Multiple Records.

This was never about one song carrying the whole catalog.

“I Stopped Arguing With Stupid” also crossed the million-play mark. Together, the records showed that listeners were connecting with more than a single viral moment — they were connecting with the voice behind the music.

Who Is Ole Lapp?

Ole Lapp, born Larry Williams, is a Southern independent artist previously known as M5K.

Ole Lapp makes music rooted in Southern soul, blues, trap-influenced production, and real conversation. The songs come from lessons about people, loyalty, money, relationships, getting older, standing on what you say, and learning when to stop explaining yourself.

The sound may be modern, but the game behind it comes from somewhere older — porch talks, family sayings, hard lessons, and the kind of wisdom people usually understand better after life has tested them.
